California's Inconvenient Truth About the Prison Crisis
By John W. Lillpop
What a shame that Governor Schwarzenegger's plan for dealing with the prison crisis went down in flames. Perhaps the governor should focus on illegal aliens who make up about 30 percent of the prison population.
Several options seem to be available:
* Force Mexico or other country of origin to reimburse California for the cost of incarcerating those here illegally;
* Immediately deport illegal aliens not guilty of violent crimes; and
* For inmates on death row, expedite their cases for early execution.
Unfortunately, politicians from both political parties are too concerned with the Hispanic vote to do what is best for America.
How much longer can America ignore rule of law and common sense in order to placate a growing voting block? Must we allow these people to destroy our American way of life and values in exchange for cheap labor and votes?
