Lindsey Graham Does Not Understand Americans
By John W.Lillpop
“Bigot” is defined in Merriam-Webster as a “person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and...”
Senator Lindsey Graham (RINO-SC) apparently believes that Americans who oppose open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens are bigots.
At least that is what the senator said recently at a Capital Awards gala hosted by the National Council of La Raza.
No doubt Senator Graham was widely cheered and applauded by his audience, an organization of Hispanics to which the definition of bigot seems to be a nice fit.
The fact that Graham denigrated his own race by calling it bigot ridden also morphed quite nicely into the agenda of his La Reza audience.
Brown in, white out!
That sums up the La Reza agenda which, unfortunately, is bought into by folks like Graham, George Bush, all Democrats, and other despicable RINOs.
But what is the origin of Graham’s distorted vision?
I know of no one wants illegal aliens to be kicked out only IF they are Spanish-speaking Latinos.
The key is not race or ethnicity, but is a much more basic: Are you here legally, or did you cross our borders illegally in violation of our immigration laws?
True enough, most of the current debate is about invaders from Mexico, but that is only because Hispanic is the overwhelmingly predominant demographic in the illegal alien community.
Still, in the interest of fairness and non-bigoted policy, let this serve as notice to the six or seven Caucasian Canadians hiding in the shadows: When we ferret you out, you will be deported as well!
Senator Graham attempted to wax eloquent when he stated: “America is an idea. No group owns this.”
Again, another applause line for a room full of folks who believe that The Race, which is the Spanish translation of La Reza, is or should be Hispanic.
By the way, Lindsey, many of those in your audience believe that America is owned a group; indeed, many believe that Mexico still owns a large portion of America, the Guadalupe Treaty of the 19th century notwithstanding.
In fact, however, America is the land of opportunity to one group and one group only: Those who obey our immigration laws and who come here legally.
There are scores of millions of such people, Senator Graham. They come from all parts of the world, comprised of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, and a vast array of cultural richness and traditions.
Those who follow the rules and whom are not disqualified because of disease, criminal history, or financial insolvency are welcomed with open arms and hearts by most Americans. Including those you like to refer to as bigots.
Legal immigrants bring a rich tapestry of culture and other traditions to the American melting pot. We love their food, music, and history.
In contrast, Americans owe absolutely nothing to the millions of illegal aliens. No one—not Senator Graham or George W. Bush or Nancy Pelosi—knows anything about these people.
Do they have criminal backgrounds or infection diseases? Are they likely to be a burden on American taxpayers? Are there potential terrorists or sympathizers among them?
None of these vital questions has been answered because illegal aliens are not subjected to the immigration scrutiny that legal immigrants rightfully face.
Finally, America is far more than just an idea, Lindsey.
Being an American is about the rule of law, respect for the property and rights of others, fairness including waiting your turn, not taking that to which you are not entitled, assimilation, and other common courtesies observed in a civil society.
None of those ideas apply to illegal aliens.
